The lovely Jasmine Coleman It is good running into you since we revamped FCM, how have you been?

Hey, it's always a pleasure seeing you too, I'm bless and doing good just been grinding

Coming from Arizona born and raised, what is the plus size community like? For those that don't know plus size rock out in Arizona

The plus size modeling community in Arizona is often overlooked, despite the presence of many aspiring models within the state. While smaller shows may feature more representation from the plus size community, larger and more popular shows typically only have around two plus size models. Additionally, many plus size models in Arizona do not receive payment for their work, as the industry is competitive and saturated with individuals willing to work for free in pursuit of their modeling dreams.

Opportunities for plus size models in Arizona are limited, leading many to seek out work in other states or explore alternative avenues within the industry, such as fit modeling or commercial modeling. However, even these options are scarce, leaving many plus size models struggling to find opportunities to showcase their talent and break into the industry. Despite these challenges, the plus size modeling community in Arizona remains resilient, with models continuing to pursue their passion and advocate for greater representation and inclusivity in the fashion industry.

What made you get into modeling and how long have you been in it?

Modeling has always been a dream of mine since childhood, so much so that at the age of 16, I took on a job to save up for modeling school. Over the past 20 years, I have dabbled in modeling on and off, but it wasn't until about six years ago that I started pursuing it consistently. Years prior, I had to take a break from modeling to focus on my family and career. My journey in modeling took a significant turn when I was crowned Mrs. Arizona International in 2018. This title reignited my passion for modeling and gave me the motivation to dive back into the industry. Since then, I have been actively pursuing my modeling career and have been going strong ever since. The experience of being Mrs. Arizona International has been a significant milestone in my modeling journey, propelling me to new heights and providing me with exciting opportunities. With renewed enthusiasm and dedication, I am excited to continue my modeling journey and see where it takes me next.

When you hear the words Fearless Curves what comes to mind?

To me, Fearless Curves means breaking free from societal beauty standards and celebrating the beauty in diversity. It's about being unapologetically yourself, standing tall and proud of who you are, regardless of your size or shape. Fearless Curves is about challenging stereotypes and redefining beauty on your own terms.

You have a diverse range of roles from finance to media and entertainment. How did you navigate these different career paths, and what drives your passion across these fields?

The key to navigating is to prioritize and commit to each path evenly.  My career in finance is flexible which allows me to time and space to accomplish my other career ventures.

What drives my passion across these fields is the opportunity to make a difference, whether it's through financial strategies that support business growth or through storytelling that inspires, educates, and entertains audiences. I thrive on the diversity of experiences and perspectives that each role brings, constantly challenging myself to adapt, innovate, and push boundaries. Ultimately, my passion lies in the pursuit of excellence, creativity, and impact. I am driven by the belief that each career path, no matter how different, has the potential to contribute something valuable to the world and to fulfill my own personal and professional growth.

As the editor-in-chief of Sexy Is Not A Size Magazine, you've created a platform focused on body positivity and self-acceptance. What inspired you to start this magazine, and what impact do you hope it will have on its readers?

As the editor-in-chief of Sexy Is Not A Size Magazine, my passion for celebrating size diversity and giving voice to underrepresented models has been the driving force behind creating this platform. The inspiration behind starting this magazine stemmed from my own journey of self-acceptance and the realization that the fashion and media industries often perpetuate narrow beauty standards that exclude many individuals. I wanted to create a space where all sizes, shapes, and backgrounds are celebrated and where diverse models have the opportunity to be seen, heard, and tell their stories. Sexy Is Not A Size Magazine aims to challenge societal norms, redefine beauty, and promote body positivity by showcasing a range of models who represent the true diversity of the human body. Through this platform, I hope to empower readers to embrace their bodies, regardless of size, and to foster a sense of self-acceptance and confidence. By featuring diverse models and sharing their stories, I aim to inspire others to love themselves unconditionally, to celebrate their uniqueness, and to reject harmful beauty standards that can erode self-esteem. I believe that Sexy Is Not A Size Magazine has the power to make a meaningful impact on its readers by promoting inclusivity, diversity, and self-love. My ultimate goal is to create a community where everyone feels seen, valued, and empowered to embrace their bodies and live authentically.

What made you get into photography? there is not that many female photographers that shoot and are in front of the camera

I was inspired to get into photography after spending years in front of the camera as a model. I found myself drawn to the creative process of capturing images and telling stories through photography. As a model, I had the privilege of collaborating with talented photographers who brought out the best in me, such as my mentor, the late Mosi Jelani of BestVoy Images and I wanted to explore the other side of the lens and create my own visual narratives.

Actually, there are very many female photographers and great ones! Did you know that one of photographer for the White House is an African female?  Look up Polly Irungu not only is she in the White House she is founder of the Black Women Photographers group. www.blackwomenphotographers.com

Being a female photographer who is also willing to step in front of the camera has allowed me to bring a unique perspective to my work. I aim to create a safe and empowering space for my subjects, whether they are in front of the camera or behind it, and to showcase the beauty and strength of women in all aspects of the creative process. My journey into photography has been a fulfilling one, and I hope to inspire other women to pursue their passions and break free from limiting beliefs about what they can achieve in the industry. By embracing both roles as a photographer and a model, I strive to contribute to a more inclusive and diverse representation in the world of photography.

In addition to your editorial role, you're also a successful photographer and host of the Soul Sessions Show. How do these creative pursuits complement your mission of promoting self-love and empowerment?

As a photographer, I have the privilege of capturing moments that showcase the beauty and strength of my subjects. I aim to empower individuals to see themselves, to appreciate their unique qualities, and to celebrate their journey. It's a powerful tool for self-expression and storytelling, allowing me to be a visual storyteller and motivational coach. Hosting the Soul Sessions Show provides a platform to amplify voices and experiences, through music. Through this show, I have the opportunity to connect with a diverse range of musicians and recording artists who share their personal stories, insights, and wisdom on topics related to self-acceptance, resilience, and empowerment within their journeys. The show delivers a platform for artists to share their voice through live performances as well. The show serves as a source of inspiration and encouragement for viewers, it too also follows their dreams. Overall, these creative pursuits work in harmony to promote self-love and empowerment by offering a platform for individuals to share their stories, celebrate their uniqueness, and inspire others to embrace their authentic selves. My mission is to create a community that uplifts, supports, and empowers individuals on their journey.

What type of camera do you shoot with and what type of shooting do you do?

I am a proud Nikon shooter, utilizing both the D5300 and the Z6 for my photography work. My passion for capturing moments extends across a wide range of genres, from nature and street art to abstract art, newborn photography, product shots, concert photography, fashion shows, weddings, and editorial photography. Each type of shooting offers a unique creative challenge and allows me to explore different aspects of visual storytelling, composition, and lighting techniques.

Could you share a memorable moment or success story from your journey with GEI Great Entertainment Inc. in Arizona? How does this organization contribute to your vision of community empowerment?

My journey with GEI has been nothing short of extraordinary. It all began when I started as a GEI model under the Arizona division President, Mosi Jelani. He not only became my mentor but also my inspiration as we worked closely together on various projects, including the creation of Sexy Is Not A Size Magazine. However, tragedy struck when Mosi passed away in late 2022, leaving a void that seemed impossible to fill.  In the wake of his passing, I was unexpectedly promoted to the position of division President. This moment marked a pivotal turning point in my life, as it came with immense responsibility and the weight of carrying on Mosi's legacy. The trust and support extended to me by the GEI family meant the world to me, knowing the shoes I had to fill were large. Navigating this new role has been a journey of self-discovery, growth, and resilience. I am still in the process of redefining my place within GEI and the impact I hope to make in the future. Despite the challenges and uncertainties, I am determined to honor Mosi's memory and continue his legacy of empowerment, diversity, and inclusivity within the GEI community. As I look ahead to the future, I am excited to announce some new ventures and projects that are set to launch in 2025. These endeavors are a testament to my unwavering commitment to pushing boundaries, challenging norms, and amplifying voices that deserve to be heard. Stay tuned as I continue to navigate this inspiring journey with GEI, fueled by passion, resilience, and a vision for a more inclusive and empowered future.

Summer 2024 is starting off hot and you are always Fabolous, what are some of the name brands you will be wearing throughout the summer?

This summer, get ready to catch me rocking Yitty like it's nobody's business! I am obsessed with everything this brand has to offer, from their shape wear and fitness wear to those jaw-dropping body con dresses – they just know how to make you look and feel fabulous! When it comes to swimwear, I'll be strutting my stuff in Nina Share’s Resort & Swimwear and Glamour Girl Swimwear, designed by none other than my amazing model mentor and confidence coach, Tricia Campbell. Traveling brings me joy and adventure. My day-to-day routine is fulfilling, filled with the simple pleasures I love. Cooking, singing, and unleashing my creativity bring me immense happiness. Reflecting on my journey, I appreciate how far I've come and the beautiful life I've built for myself. I am truly grateful for my family, the experiences I've had, and the love that surrounds me.
