After so many years of knowing one another, we finally have the beautiful curvy Celina on our cover. How are you doing?

Hey, I'm doing well, blesses and thankful to finally get this opportunity.

What's the modeling scene like in VA?

Like most things, its what you make it. I started my modeling carrer in VA four years ago and have had so many amazing opportunities. I have also been able to meet and build relationships with photographers, models and designers and have made some connections that extend beyond modeling.

When you hear the words Fearless Curves what comes to mind?

When I hear fearless curves, I think unapologetically confident and embracing your curves. Fearless curves is a movement that empowers plus/curvy women to love their bodies and understand that their curves are sexy and should be celebrated.

Breaking Barriers: As a petite, curvy model, what challenges did you face when re-entering the modeling industry four years ago, and how did you overcome them?

I would say the biggest challenge was definitely my height. There are still so many shows and other castings that have a height requirement. I stand at a tall 5’3. I can say that while the industry has become more diverse and accepting of curvy/plus models, the desire for a “traditional model” still exists.

Networking in Fashion: You’ve mentioned stepping out on faith and connecting with fashion experts, coaches, and designers. How has networking played a crucial role in advancing your career?

Networking has allowed me to connect with people and open doors that I would not have otherwise known about or had the opportunity to walk through. Having genuine conversations with those around you can you a different perspective on things and help to motivate you. I cannot say enough how thankful I am for these connections and mentorships over the years.

Milestone Moments: You’ve had the opportunity to walk in prestigious shows like NYFW and work with celebrity designers like Daniel’s Leather. What moment in your career so far has been the most impactful or memorable?

I think at this point in my career, the most memorable moments are walking into rooms and being know who I am in the industry. I've worked really hard to make a name for myself and establish my brand and I think it's really cool when I have the pleasure of meeting designers, photographers and other models that I am a fan of, and they are actually fans of mine. I remember walking in a show earlier in the year and a model that is well established and has one of the best walks in the 757/804 came up to me and told me “You killed it”. I wanted to cry.

Winning Ms. Kurvy Kulture 2024: How did it feel to win the title of 2024 Ms. Kurvy Kulture, and what does representing the Kurvacious Brand mean to you personally and professionally?

Winning the title of Ms. Kurvy Kulture 2024 was an absolute honor and milestone in my modeling career for some many reasons. This competition challenged me in a way that forced me to step out of my shell. Representing a brand that has a purpose and a platform is an absolute dream. This is one of the reasons I decided to compete. This is a title that I do not hold lightly. I have already spoken about the brand and its platforms at a recent fashion show in Richmond, VA; I have also continued to promote the brand and any events being held on its behalf. I look forward to the seeing what’s next with this partnership.

Advocacy and Empowerment: You’re passionate about women’s health and advocacy, especially through your involvement with the Domestic Violence Awareness Brunch and Fashion Show. What inspired you to use your platform to promote these causes?

For me, it’s personal. I’ve been very transparent about my struggle with fibroids and adenomyosis over the past few years. It became extremely frustrating to have several doctors tell me I was “fine” and to recommend medication that was only putting a band-aid on my symptoms. After years of pain and three doctors, a fourth finally listened. At 35 I had a full hysterectomy. I feel its so important for women, especially black women, to advocate for themselves. We have to continue to educate ourselves in all aspects and demand understanding and respect when it comes to our well-being.

Do you have a Fearless closet? What brands do you rock?

I do have a few fearless curves pieces in my closet, but I find myself wearing my Kurvacious t-shirt pretty much everywhere now. I’ve worked with several brands in my area and hope to continue to do more as I segway into a more commercial realm.

What are your future goals in the modeling industry and beyond and

how do you plan to continue using your platform to empower and uplift women?

My goal is always to continue to learn and grow. Modeling is so much more than just taking pictures and walking a runway for. Modeling has become an outlet for me to express myself and to trump beauty standards held previously. My platform is to continue to motivate all women to take back their confidence. I have some things in the works that will allow me to work with models to help them reach their modeling aspirations.

What should we look out for in the year of 2025?

My billboard in times square! I will also be tapping into more teaching and mentoring aspects in the future.

We thank you for sitting down with us any last words.?

You are amazing and capable of anything you set out to do. Have confidence in yourself and surround yourself with positive, uplifting people. Thank you so much for all the love and support. Team Fearless Curves all day every day.
