Can you describe some of the community outreach events you hosted through RCI Ministries?
Through my church we hosted yearly community outreach events from the years 2017-2019. Connecting with local food banks, grocery stores and community centers! We feed 10-20 families each year. Supplying diaper bags, baby food, clothes and cleaning supplies.
What were your key goals and achievements during those years?
Connecting with the community and giving back to those who need assistance. It always feels good to bless others!
What inspired you and Regina Warren to establish “Miss Essence World Elite,” and how does the pageant promote self-discovery and self-love among its participants?
We both believed that this was something needed and necessary for women! The pageant is built for each Women to advocate and grow within themselves. Each segment is built around their creativity, their talents and aspirations. They go through an interview competition where they advocate their platform and for their community.
How do you balance your roles as a model, student, mentor, and community leader? What strategies do you use to manage these diverse responsibilities?
I am still learning the balance lol! However, all of these role's tie into each other! I truly feel I am called to do what I am doing .. so it feels like I am walking in purpose. Finding the balance can be challenging but each day is a learning experience.
What was the vision behind producing a Christmas special that included gun violence awareness, and how did it feel to have it aired on WHMB 40? What kind of impact did you hope to achieve with this special?
I truly loved doing the Special! At the time I was hearing about a lot of gun violence in my hometown! A lot of women and children were being gun down and I wanted to bring awareness to how senseless things were becoming. Representation is important and our voices matter! At that time, I wanted to highlight this topic while incorporating fashion.
